Kate + Nathan’s Autumn Wedding at Summerland Farm:

A Day of Love, Rain, and Timeless Beauty

Teaser Film

Some couples dream of perfect blue skies on their wedding day, but Kate and Nathan embraced the unexpected, proving that a little rain only adds to the magic. Their wedding at Summerland Farm in April was a celebration of love, resilience, and the beauty of the season.

An Outdoor Ceremony Against the Odds

The forecast wasn’t looking promising, but that didn’t deter Kate and Nathan from saying their vows exactly where they had envisioned - outdoors at Three Trees. As guests gathered, a light drizzle fell during the processional, but Kate’s radiant smile never wavered. Her happiness set the tone, making it clear that a little rain wouldn’t dampen their day. By the time they exchanged vows, the rain had softened to barely a mist, allowing them to fully enjoy the moment surrounded by the deep, rich greens of the landscape - a natural beauty that only an autumn drizzle can bring to life.

Rain - Kissed Portraits with a Unique Touch

After the ceremony, we moved into the portrait session, where the overcast sky and light rain created an atmosphere that simply wouldn’t have been possible on a bright sunny day. With clear umbrellas in hand, Kate, Nathan, and their bridal party embraced the weather, adding an elegant and cinematic touch to their portraits.

Tip: Holding something, like an umbrella, can help you feel more at ease in front of the camera. It gives your hands a purpose, preventing them from awkwardly resting by your side, making it easier to capture genuine, relaxed moments.

Tips for Embracing the Weather
Rain on your wedding day might seem like a challenge, but as Kate and Nathan showed, it can also be a blessing in disguise. Don’t be afraid to embrace the weather - those raindrops can create a magical atmosphere and result in beautiful, one-of-a-kind photos and videos. If light rain is in the forecast, consider keeping the ceremony outside, as the natural setting combined with a light drizzle can add an enchanting touch to your special day.

Tying the Knot - In More Ways Than One

There’s an old saying that “It’s lucky if it rains on your wedding day,” and Kate and Nathan’s day was a perfect reminder of why. Just like a wet knot becomes tighter and harder to untie, their commitment to one another only grew stronger through the day’s unexpected twists. The joy and laughter that filled the air was truly unforgettable.

A Story Worth Remembering

Filming Kate and Nathan’s wedding for 10 hours was an unforgettable experience. Their decision to stick with an outdoor ceremony, despite the forecast, made for a visually stunning and emotionally rich day. The combination of autumn’s deep greens, the gentle rain, and the love between them created a wedding story that felt timeless.
